In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Please read the following beforsigning up for sponsoring Ramadan Iftars
- Inshallah, The UMBC MSA Iftars will begin Tuesday, September 1, 2009, and will be held every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday until the end of Ramadan.
- Please make certain you sign up with at least ONE OTHER person for any given day. This is in case a person cannot follow through with their sponsorship, there is still someone bringing some food.
- If you sign up for a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday, bring enough food for 40 people. If you sign up for a Wednesday, bring enough food for 60 people.
- Please ensure all foods and/or their ingredients, if derived from animal sources, are in complete accordance with Islamic Zabiha standards. If you have any questions, please email umbcmsa@gmail.com with the title “Question about Ramadan Iftar”.
- Please ensure that the food arrives (at the LATEST) 15 minutes before iftar time.
- At the end of the iftar, please take all of your own utensils/containers back with you.
- No monetary sponsorships (money given to UMBC MSA to buy food for a given day) will be accepted. The only exception is if multiple parties sponsor a dinner along with the UMBC MSA. If you still want to sponsor a day but don’t have access to your own kitchen, etc, you may buy food from a Halal food provider and bring it on your own responsibility. Another option is to buy ingredients and have a friend’s family make it for you. Basically, the UMBC MSA will not be responsible for buying/bringing food.
- Dates for breaking the fast, sodas and utensils can be donated to the UMBC MSA for use during the Ramadan iftars. Funds to purchase these items can also be donated to the UMBC MSA. The MSA will then take the responsibility to provide them at the iftars.
- Only individuals or groups of individuals may sponsor an iftar. No association, organization or any other affiliated group may sponsor an iftar.
- Please direct all questions promptly to umbcmsa@gmail.com with the email title “Question about Ramadan Iftar”.
- Please make sure your intentions for all actions, including these sponsorships, are to please Allah (Subhana wa TacAala)
Jazakallahu-khair and we hope you enjoy a happy and rewarding Ramadan!
May Allah Subhana wa Ta'Aala keep all of you in the best of health and Emaan. Ameen
